From the diary of Irina Saslavskaya, second daughter of Bubi "Blues"Saslavsky, a.k.a. Booby Bloosy Sasloosy, who used to own the music-hall"Los Tanqueros" in Ushuaia, Argentine.

My father, an itinerant musician, married my mother, the swiss tango singer Verene la Berenjena in Paris, in 1925. For a while they worked at the Folies Bergère; then they moved to Copenhagen, where B.B. Saloosy -as he was then known- was named consul general, as he was the only american in Denmark who could speak danish.

Later they lived in Barcelona up to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. There they owned a rather disreputable bar called "La Paloma negra", where la Berenjena used to sing, accompanied by Booby Bloosy on the cello. Finally they ended up in Ushuaia, where they harboured Dalila Salas, B.B.'s sister, then a fugitive from justice.

They opened "Los Tanqueros" in 1938, the year I was born.

From the files of Lieutenant-General Crispín Malín Putín, SIDE.

Today of course, "Los Tanqueros" is a well-known art-gallery, run by Ms.Saslavskaya. Whether the extract from her diary is authentic remains to be seen.
